Welcome back rams! It has been a quiet summer here at KCSU, and we’re happy to see new and returning students again. If you’re new to campus, or just finding our station, KCSU is Colorado State University’s student-run radio station, managed by the Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation. Our primary function is the management of our FM broadcast, 90.5 KCSU Fort Collins.
We operate on a predominately freeform music programming schedule, with special blocks for our longstanding news program “Rocky Mountain Review”, sports program “Ramblers”, charting music recap “Weekly Gems“, and live performances on “Live and Local”. On the web, we produce and publish podcasts, such as “Mental Health Musings” and “Office Hours”, as well as written reporting on a variety of topics.
As the fall semester starts, we’re saying goodbye to our summer community volunteers and welcome back to a majority of our student DJs, as well as a new batch of staff members. We have a full schedule coming into this semester, and we hope you enjoy what you hear!
KCSU is a learning institution, and we’d love to have you on board. We offer experience in on-air DJing, audio production, reporting, and more. DJing is a great opportunity for students to learn about on-air programming, practice public speaking, and build confidence in making content for a media corporation. Training information is available on our website.
We also put on events! In conjunction with RamEvents, KCSU’s third annual Battle of the Bands will be on September 19, at 3 p.m. in the Sutherland Gardens on the west side of the Lory Student Center. Four bands of CSU students will battle it out in the form of a free show on campus for a mystery prize, so make sure to stop by.
