What is DJ-Athon?
DJ-Athon is KCSU’s semi-annual fundraising event where our on-air personalities are on-air all week long from calling upon the listener to support our student-run, non-profit, commercial free radio station. Our DJs, staff and volunteers are in the studio from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. each day hosting shows and making pitches on air to raise money for our station. This culminates in a 24 hour “lock-in” live broadcast on Friday-Saturday morning; our final fundraising day!
DJ-Athon helps support the future of CSU’s college radio and helps our ability to fund future student projects and help keep our students employed. KCSU, and our parent organization, Rocky Mountain Student Media, are independent organizations from CSU. ALL donations help fund KCSU as an independent radio station by helping with large equipment purchases, station upkeep, and providing our students the resources to learn more about broadcast radio, DJing, podcasting, news broadcasts, journalism and helping them prepare for their future careers.
Each DJ-Athon, every person who donates will get a personalized letter in the mail with their very own KCSU sticker. If you’re interested in becoming a Club 905 donor (hyperlink), you will also receive merchandise based around the theme of that semester’s DJ-Athon!

Money raised during DJ-Athon goes directly to KCSU and Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation. KCSU is an independently owned non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to provide opportunities and resources to students interested in media, communication, and journalism. What is Club 905?
Club 905 is KCSU’s exclusive membership program! If you donate $7.50 monthly or $90.5 per year, you will be automatically enrolled in Club 905 where you will have access to our monthly newsletters and new student-created merchandise each semester. Our team at KCSU is always looking to expand our opportunities for our Club 905 members. If you have any ideas on what you would like to see for our program, feel free to shoot an email to club905@kcsufm.com!
What kind of merchandise can I expect to see as a Club 905 member?
During our bi-annual DJ-Athon, our team at KCSU brainstorms new ideas for merchandise specifically for our Club 905 donors! Each semester, the merchandise follows a general theme that we have planned out for the semester’s DJ-Athon.
I am a Club 905 member but didn’t receive merchandise for this semester, what should I do?
Typically, KCSU offers its merchandise to its donors during the DJ-Athon that they become a Club 905 member. For example, if you begin your Club 905 donation during Spring 2023 DJ-Athon, you would get that semester's DJ-Athon merchandise. However, in Fall 2023 you would not receive the merchandise for that semester.
However, there can be exceptions to this. If you are a long-time donor or would like merchandise from a previous DJ-athon, please contact club905@kcsufm.com. Otherwise, you can visit out Bandcamp [link] to check out other merch we have available on our website!
