Rising country star Waylon Wyatt opened for Sam Barber alongside Wild Horses at Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 9.
This is the 19 year old country stars second time taking over Red Rocks as he opened for Turnpike Troubadours at the venue May 9, 2025.
Wyatt played a wide range of songs from his discography, making sure to cover low to high energy tracks across his time as a musical artist. He played more solemn vibes with his top hit, “Arkansas Diamond,” and also made sure to bring the more energetic notes with one of his newer song, “Dead Man Walkin’.” However, Red Rocks was given a special treat as well, as he played his brand new song “Box of Bones,” officially releasing July 10. Box of Bones is a song off of his upcoming debut album, “Dustpiles,” which is set to release July 17.
Though this night wasn’t just a wonder for Wyatt as he was joined on stage by his touring band comprised of Jack McLoughlin on the pedal steal and guitar, J.R. Atkins on the guitar, Austin Drewry on the drums, and Laura Epling on the fiddle.
“Just getting out on stage and looking out at the crowd and seeing everyone and the rocks on either side its just… there’s no other venue like it, its really a dream come true.” spoke Jack McLoughlin.
The audience was packed full of eager listeners as Wyatt and his crew brought the energy for this spectacular sundown performance.
“Its been amazing. Waylon’s the best guy ever, music’s great, whole crews amazing, so its been a lotta lotta fun.” – Jack McLoughlin.
