5) All Feels – “Evasive Sentimental” (2026)

Western Massachusetts indie band all feels blossomed from the state’s DIY scene, each member with multiple prior band experiences under their belts. Their first LP “THIS PLACE IS A MESSAGE” released in 2024, exploring the ins and outs of lo-fi indie pop with touches of ambient. Their second release to date, the “Evasive Sentimental” EP blends bedroom pop and post-rock for a uniquely layered sound.Critics have compared their sound to shoegaze/dream pop group Slowdive and surf rock band La Luz.
This week’s highlighted track, “Goose Girl” is ethereal and good-natured, lacking any implications of the waterfowl it is named for.
4) Yumi Zouma – “No Love Lost to Kindness” (2026)

Hailing from New Zealand, four-piece alternative pop band Yumi Zouma’s sound has greatly evolved with each new iteration. Their first release, a 2014 EP “EP I” was written entirely using file sharing services, as most members of the group had moved abroad. After adding members to create the current lineup, the group released a second EP the next year and toured across North America and Europe with Jamie xx. Their sound originally moved towards more dream pop and synth pop, however their newest record “No Love Lost to Kindness” experiments with a heavier sound.
This week’s selected track, “Drag” is swanky and darkly emotive, the layered vocals featuring an almost angelic quality.
3) GorpoPap – “Reach 4 The Stars” (2026)

Philly-based electronic artist GorpoPap has been arranging dance-centric tracks since 2017. Her music experiments with analog textures and modern arrangements. This year’s album features all physical drum machines and analog synths which work together to create a more ambient/noise adjacent sound than her previous dance tracks. In 2022, GorpoPap composed an original soundtrack for the short film By Any Means.
This week’s highlighted track, “Work It” is a funky little IDM ditty, featuring mellow synths and gentle drum beats.
2) Radium Dolls – “Wound Up” (2026)

Straight out of Brisbane, Australia, Radium Dolls are a punk rock group that formed in 2019. The four-piece band specializes in guitar grit and electric vocals. Their first release in 2020 was the single “My Girl”, followed by two EPs. Their debut album “Legal Speed” released in 2024 and showcased their funky garage rock. With their recent release “Wound Up” they finall yreached the top 20 of the ARIA charts, the Australia charting organization.
This week’s chosen track, “Scorching Heat” is a fast-paced high-energy rock track, oozing with summertime reckless abandon.
1) Gorillaz – “The Mountain” (2026)

Behold, the band that Mia had her first total obsession with. And better yet, they do not exist. A mainstay in the alternative/hip-hop scene since their self-titled debut in 2001, Gorillaz consist of four cartoon band members. Behind the scenes, the creators of Gorillaz are none other than Blur frontman Damon Albarn and illustrator and artist Jamie Hewlett. Known for their specialty of scouring far and wide for unique features, this newest release features artists like Sparks, IDLES, and two returning artists who were previously collaborators on “Plastic Beach”: Bobby Womack and Paul Simonon.
This week’s selected track, “The Happy Dictator” features Albarn’s vocals as lead singer 2D and Sparks providing background vocals with a joyful chord progression. This track was the first single of the album.

5) Joyce Manor – “I Used To Go To This Bar” (2026)

Since 2008, California-based group Joyce Manor has made a name for themselves in pop punk circles and beyond. Their first release came out in 2011 in the form of a self-titled LP, their live performances across California shaped their sound to include more emo. Joyce Manor has retained two of its members since inception, including lead vocalist Barry Johnson and guitarist Chase Knobbe, adding bassist Matt Ebert and drummer Kurt Walcher in 2009. Walcher was later replaced in 2015 and again in 2017. The group has since released six more albums, including this year’s release, along with seven other EPs.
This week’s selected track, “The Opossum” is a fast-paced and lively track with vocalist Johnson performing at his pop-punk best.
4) Yin Yin – “Yatta!” (2026)

Yin Yin originated in Maastricht, Netherlands in 2017 and has since synthesized four albums worth of psychedelic grooviness. The group released their first full-length album in 2019, “The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers”, which was a Thai-rock inspired collection that featured their hit track “One Inch Punch”. Their musical style combines funk, pop, and Southeastern Asian music in a mellow and instrumentally varied fashion.
This week’s chosen track, “Yata Yata” feels like the perfect track for a late-night summer disco, brimming with a lively bassline and some psychedelic synths.
3) Annika Kilkenny – “Make Yourself at Home” (2026)

20-year-old Annika Kilkenny hails from Kilkenny, Ireland and is as much of a product of her indie contemporaries as she is inspired by 70s pop acts. The singer-songwriter worked her way from the piano to the acoustic guitar, where she has found her calling. Her earliest inspirations were indie artists like Mac DeMarco and Lizzy McAlpine, but she has also given ABBA their flowers for their memory-evoking chord progressions.
This week’s highlighted track, “Winter on the west coast” uses delicate acoustic fingerpicking and some sweet background banjo!
2) Samm Henshaw – “It Could Be Worse” (2026)

Born and raised in South London, Samm Henshaw’s love for music originated the gospel music that scored his childhood. The son of a reverend, singer- songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Henshaw released his first EP in 2015. His work centers around pop-inspired R&B and soul, his earliest inspirations including Stevie Wonder and D’Angelo. He has supported both Chance the Rapper and Allen Stone on tour and his work has been featured in multiple artistic projects, including the 2022 film Hustle.
This week’s selected track, “Float” sees Henshaw’s vocals tapping into a light resonance with airy backing vocals.
1) Annabelle Chairlegs – “Waking Up” (2026)

Sitting at the crossroads of vulnerability and electric performance, Annabelle Chairlegs is a rock ‘n roll quartet from Austin, Texas. Vocalist and guitarist Lindsey Mackin formulated the band from the ashes of her first group Treemotel, adding bassist Derek Vaughan Nunez Strahan, guitarist Nolan Potter, and drummer Nick Cornetti. The group’s psychedelic affectations originate with Mackin’s gritty Janis Joplin-esque vocals backed up with instrumentation that switches between punk and pop.
Our Gem of the Week is “Sally”, an indie take Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane”, featuring a dissonant piano solo, an almost identical guitar melody, and a galloping bassline.
