Following the response the university has taken to the federal changes, CSU students have gathered this week to protest the federal policies and administration responses. In local news, slick roads on Interstate 25 caused congestion after several car accidents on Tuesday. A Colorado Springs man has been arrested in Fort Collins after stealing a vehicle. Former CSU football player Aaron Moore has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman while attending CSU. Events in the city include the Global Village Museum of Arts and Culture exhibit, “It’s About Time.” This weekend Fort Collins residents and CSU students can catch the 69th annual World Unity Fair.
National Parks across the nation are struggling to make decisions on how to operate following the firing of nearly 1,000 employees by the Trump administration. In New York, prisons struggle to stay open after employees protest their work conditions. New York’s governor Kathy Hochul has warned she may send in the National Guard. Over an Arizona airport, two planes collided resulting in the death of two people.
In CSU sports, men’s golf wraps up a three-day tournament with a total team score of 858. Men’s basketball achieved a close win against Nevada and the women’s team found their fifth consecutive win. In Rams swimming the diving team states their Mountain West Championships that lasts until Sunday. To wrap up the show, the weather in Fort Collins finally warms up this weekend after frigid temperatures have impacted the city and state.
