KCSU wishes you a happy World Radio Day! Established in 2011 by UNESCO, World Radio Day takes place yearly on the 13th of February. It honors radio’s role as a widely used, low-cost medium, and its potential for communication, information, and entertainment. This year, UNESCO is highlighting “Radio and climate change” and the important role independent broadcast journalism plays in reporting on climate-related issues. UNESCO’s full statement and more information about World Radio Day can be found on their webpage.
We strive, as always, to bring you programming that honors the legacy of our medium. Our broadcast journalism program, Rocky Mountain Review, can be heard live at 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. You can also listen to it in podcast form on our site, or wherever you listen to podcasts. For more about our radio programming and other content, check out our About page.
We’d love it if you celebrated with us! We’ll be on the Lory Student Center plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday (02/14) for World Radio Day and Valentine’s Day. Stop by and ask us how you can get involved! If you’re not able to make it, we have information on our Get Involved page, and our broadcast will be live as always on 90.5 FM Fort Collins and our internet livestream.
Thank you for supporting KCSU!
