Last Friday, at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver, Dead Floyd jammed the night away. Playing hits by the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd, Dead Floyd is a local fan favorite. Last time the highly rated Colorado cover band played Fort Collins, they sold out our very own Aggie theater. This past weekend in Denver, they played a set to remember to a packed house of dancing dead heads and Pink Floyd fans.
Colorado State University’s very own faculty and alumni have their hands in the band. Drummer of Dead Floyd, Stu Crair is a CSU College of Business Marketing instructor, while keys and synth player, Matt Goldberg is a CSU grad. There is music all around our campus, and it is exciting to see our musician population spread beyond the student body, into our faculty as well.
If you have been to a Dead Floyd show before, you already know how genuinely impressed this group of musicians will leave you. It is safe to say that their musicality as a band makes the audience feel like they are one with not only the music, but the band members themselves. Playing fan favorite songs, like “Sugar Magnolia” by the Grateful Dead, “What Do You Want From Me” by Pink Floyd, and other deeper cuts, there was a song for everyone throughout the night.
Whether you are a fan of the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, both, or neither, you are in for an absolute treat when you attend a Dead Floyd show. More information on the band can be found on DeadFloyd.com.
