On Tuesday I talked with Bob Boilen of National Public Radio Music. Boilen is the creator of both the Tiny Desk Concerts as well as the podcast All Songs Considered. Spinning off of the Tiny Desk Concerts, Boilen began the Tiny Desk Contest for which artists from all over the country are submitting videos of themselves playing original songs behind a desk. The age limit for submissions was dropped from being 21 years old to 18. In this interview, he discusses the reason for the age change, as well as a few specifics about the Tiny Desk Contest and exploring the Tiny Desk Concerts in general.
The final submission date for the Tiny Desk Contest is April 14th.
In Bob’s own words, we “hope to see lots of submissions from Colorado!”
Technical difficulties occurred at the beginning of this broadcast, making part of Bob’s interview inaudible.
