KCSU is known for its delivery of new music and support for local artists. This college radio station also ensures to support students in sports broadcasting.
The KCSU Sports Department is a ever-growing part of Rocky Mountain Student Media. The men behind the programming, Nick Baker and Bryan Buck, will enter their fourth semester as sports directors this fall.
Together, Baker and Buck host four sports shows, covering all of CSU’s major storylines, and other college and professional sports. They have interviewed notable guests from the community and the NFL. The pair call CSU Volleyball, Baseball, and host a pregame show during the Football Season.
Sports have always been in Baker’s life, “Now that I’ve had too many concussions to keep playing them, covering them is what keeps me close to the competitions I’ve loved my whole life.” Buck owes his positive experience at a University of Washington football game for his love of the sport,“I remembered how excited I was on that cold, miserable, definition of a Seattle autumn day, and all the other people who were just as excited.” He had never considered his future in sports broadcasting, and is thankful to be doing what he loves in a job that takes a lot of passion.
Listen to Nick and Bryan on 90.5 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7 – 9 pm for B&B Sports, Unit’s Corner and Ramblers. Tune in for Ramtalk on Mondays from 5 – 6 pm on Rock 102.9.
