Whitechapel in 1888 was home to nearly 900,000 people. This small little hamlet of London was not only overcrowded but crime and murder seemed to be a daily occurrence. It was during this time that one of the most notorious serial killers in history murdered five sex workers who were living in the slums of Whitechapel. Jack the Ripper has remained one of the most famous unsolved serial murder cases since his first victim was murdered in the fall of 1888. After almost 150 years of waiting to know the answer to who Jack the Ripper actually was, DNA may have given us the answer.
