Washington’s was razzle dazzled on August 7 as folk rock band, The Crane Wives, took the stage alongside their opener and special guest Brye! The Crane Wives are currently beginning the third leg or “Act Three” of their self titled tour; Fort Collins was the second stop on this 13 destination line up.

Brye is set to be their opener for the duration of the final third of their 2026 tour but Fort Collins was her debut night with them. The Nashville indie-pop artist’ lineup consisted of many songs about growth, trauma, and self love but most notably she started off her set and the concert evening with her hit song “Lemons.” Her set was a fan favorite as the crowd cheered for each song as well as interacted with Bryes short anecdotes of the lived experiences that inspired each song.

Once The Crane Wives took the stage the energy of the audience shifted, ready to jam with the band. Their show begun by drummer and third harmony of the band, Dan Rickabus, walking on with a deer mask and illuminating the stage with a lantern, adding a mystical vibe to their already woodland marsh themed decor. After setting the lantern down and bowing, he then walked off only to return without a mask and the rest of the band consisting of lead vocalists and guitarists Emilee Petersmark and Kate Pillsbury as well as bassist Ben Zito. During their set they played a mix of songs from across their eras; hitting popular numbers such as “The Moon Will Sing,” “Never Love an Anchor,” and “Curses” as well as many more tracks that ranged from more mellow tempos to fast rock. Following the conclusion of their main set and the speedy chant for “one more song” by the audience the band came back out and treated us to three encore songs, one of which was “Tongues & Teeth.”

The audience throughout both sets were alight with energy. Folks jammed, danced, sung along, and made their enjoyment of the concert apparent through a sea of “yippee’s” between each number, adding to the sense of community and joy that permeated the venue.
