Clementine and Hospital Socks played at the Aggie Theatre on Feb. 3 opened by Scuffed and Wastebasket.

The first time I had the opportunity to listen to these headliner bands was at The Coast when they competed in a band competition in December. While I really enjoyed their performance at Sonic Spotlight, the growth that both Clementine and Hospital Socks have shown since then is astounding.

Hospital Socks’ performance led the crowd to mosh along with them.

Hospital Socks performed before Clementine, delivering a great set that I thought had more metal influences than what I’d seen from them before. The drums and vocals in their set were really fantastic. It was a really fun performance; the audience was really engaged and one of the guests on stage actually jumped in the crowd while singing and moshed with them.

Clementine’s set was one of the best live shows I have seen in a really long time. The crowd engagement was fantastic, and they had a great stage presence. What I thought made their set especially engaging was how they interacted as a band. It felt like they were having a lot of fun performing, and you could tell by watching how passionate they are about their music. The singer was dancing, rolling around on the ground, headbanging and communicating with his body how deeply he felt his music. I was also really impressed with the sync between the guitarists, bassist and drummer. There was a point later in their set where they had to play some isolated notes unison, something that can be very challenging for any band. They played each of them perfectly.

Overall, this show was a punk/metal/rock influenced experience that I really enjoyed. I had a fantastic time at this show and I cannot wait to see Hospital Socks and Clementine in concert again soon.
