Hailing from Austin, Texas, The Bright Light Social Hour blends future, southern, and psychedelic rock genres to bring a powerful and exciting sound to their listeners. They build off this sound to create songs that examine politics, social issues, and “the world’s faults and follies” (as the band states on their Facebook page), and through their music they hope to inspire change. DJ Tie Dye interviewed Jack O’Brien, a member of The Bright Light Social Hour, and delved into the deeper aspects and inspirations for the band’s music. The full interview can be heard below. The Bright Light Social Hour will be at Hodi’s Half Note on September 16th at 7 PM.
