Mars, the company which is responsible for M&Ms, Snickers, and Twix, is encouraging less sugar intake. Despite being one of the biggest candy companies in the world, in the announcement Friday Mars said it supports government recommended sugar intakes. Those recommendations would be that consumers sugar intake should make up no more than 10% of their daily calorie intake. “We want people to enjoy Mars brands as part of a well-balanced diet” they said.
The Dow is start off strong this morning, jumping 175 points after the April jobs report. This months report came as a relief after the March report, which reported nearly 50% less jobs created than expected. April’s job report shows 223,000 jobs created and an unemployment decrease bringing the rate down to 5.4%.
Tonight is the annual Colorado State University undie run. This year, the event is going by a new name: BARE, standing for Body Acceptance Run Extravaganza. The name change is intended to help transform the event by reducing the amount of groping and sexual harassment and assault. BARE will also function as a clothing donation drive, as it has in the past few years.
