Drop-Off Productions presents an evening of rock ‘n’ roll music featuring Nashville, TN’s Natural Child. Okey Dokey (9/16) is the band’s latest full-length – after several releases on various notable independent labels (Infinity Cat Records, Burger Records, Suicide Squeeze, Jeffery Drag Records, Almost Ready Record…s, etc.) the album is the first new music from Natural Child in two years and also the debut release on their new label, Natural Child Records and Tapes. Working alongside Cooper Crain (Cave, Bitchin Bajas) between Memphis and Chicago, the forthcoming LP is a record that’ll make ya wanna sway, scream, serenade and stumble. Joining them on tour is Faux Ferocious – a Nashville based rock and roll quartet that combines blistering punk-rock simplicity, Spector-worthy hooks, and a whatever-it-takes production approach to create songs that are short, infectious, and razor sharp. Faux Ferocious creates an inspiring fuzz-driven alt-pop group soundthat shows kinship with bands like Wavves, Ty Segall, and Best Coast while expertly walking the tightrope between noise and beauty. Additional support to be announced.
Fort Collins/Denver band Nadalands releases its first full-length album at the world famous Surfside 7 in Fort Collins. Denver/Fort Collins indie dreamrock outfit Shark Dreams will open up the show, and Denver basement/surf/grunge specialists Super Bummer will headline.
Drop-Off Productions presents a very special evening of live music featuring Lawrence, KS post-rock outfit, The Appleseed Cast. “As back catalogues go, The Appleseed Cast boast a bloody impressive one – from their most recent album, 2013’s ‘Illumination Ritual’, the band sounds as though they had been playing the genre for their entire near-twenty year career. Travel back to 2006’s ‘Peregrine’, however, and you find an accomplished indie rock band that wouldn’t have trouble hanging with then-peers Interpol at the top of their game. Delve deeper still and you’ll find that on their 1998 debut, ‘The End Of The Ring Wars’, as well as its follow up, 2000’s ‘Mare Vitalis’, The Appleseed Cast were a key factor in crea…ting and refining the sound of ‘emo’ as we know it today.” The Appleseed Cast are the kind of band that mesmerizes, more than inspires dancing and singalongs – their songs have their individual intricacies (like the tricky lead riff of “Fishing The Sky”), but mostly they build the kind of walls of sound that make you forget where you are.The band most recently released a re-issue of their album ‘Mare Vitalis’ and are currently playing that album in its entirety on tour. Additional support to be announced. This is a 21+ show at the world famous Surfside 7– Tickets are $15 Advance/$17 Day of show.
