On July 26, 1974, a 13-year-old girl was walking her dog in Provincetown, MA when she stumbled upon a very disturbing scene.

The mutilated body of a female was lying face down in the sand among the brush.  The woman’s identity was unknown but her throat was cut and her hands had been completely removed. She earned the name ‘The Lady of the Dunes” and

The woman’s identity and her killer remain a mystery to this day and that means the theories as to who killed her are boundless. Was this woman involved with the mob? Was she merely the innocent victim of a robbery gone wrong? Or was she killed for something more sinister?
