Get ready to class up the joint. Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One have teamed up to deliver you some funky fresh baby making magic. The new band, Tuxedo, is even more magical than Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt as a crime fighting duo. I will say that if you aren’t into classic funk and Motown from the 70’s and 80’s, perhaps this album isn’t for you. Brace yourself for awesome throwback vibes and an album entirely about sex.
Some special standouts include “Do It” and “The Right Time,” which each make me want to kick off my shoes and boogie on down. If you’re looking for an especially sultry listen, check out “Get U Home.”
